Sankranti, Sankranthi, Makar Sankranti or Makar Sankranthi is a celebrated on January 14th.
It is a harvest festival celebrated in South India. Sankranti is perhaps the only Indian festival that falls on the same day every year (14th January).
At assembly, students were introduced to how Sankranthi is celebrated. As part of the celebrations at school, during club time, primary school students rode on colorfully decorated bullock carts to the field where students and staff had a great time flying their kites with varying degrees of success.
