As Earth Day this year was on a Sunday, Candor celebrated it on Monday, April 23. Immediately after breakfast we had a short 10 minute assembly where Grades 3-5 enacted a little skit showing the origins of the Chipco Movement which began with women in Rajasthan refusing to allow trees to be felled. 118 saplings in all were planted as an ongoing effort towards living up to our ‘green’ name. THe plan is for each one to plant a sapling every birthday. This will transform our campus into a haven for the birds and the bees and other insects.
