The students of the PYP section celebrated ‘One Nation Reading Together‘(ONRT) on November 27th, 2015. This is an annual event conducted by SCHOLASTIC publishers.
Children in schools across the country drop everything and read for 30 minutes on the designated day and hour. Candorians take part in this event every year. The purpose of DEAR time is to encourage reading.
First we had Maya of Grade-5 read out the specially written pledge by Ms. Sudha Murthy. The students then read their favourite books for at least 30 minutes. It was very encouraging to watch the kids engrossed in their books. The teachers also enjoyed reading along with the students.
