In line with our Professional Development sessions, a creative and visually provocative session was organized this week by the ArtSpark Foundation. ArtSpark is a non-profit organization that works to support the 21st century learning and life skills in children through the medium of visual art and design. This session had the teachers delving into their family histories and creating meaning from artifacts that related to their cultures and backgrounds. The importance of equipping our students with the skill of observation, as well as the concept of Art-Infused Project Based learning were the key objectives in this session. Teachers had a great time reflecting on their personal histories and personalities. It was also good to see our teachers try their hand at observational drawings, tapping into the dormant “artists” in each of them.
