Personal and pensive poems with a hint of melancholy to them!
The Beast’s Ballad:
You poke and prod me like I am a wax showpiece.
You parade me around town: The Jungle Freak.
Expecting only snarls from behind those cracks.
You would never, ever, expect me to attack.
As you jeer at me from behind velvet curtains and cages,
You forget my soul hasn’t tasted flesh in ages.
You forget my bear like strength, my desire to spill.
Maybe you have forgotten: A scorpion strikes to kill.
Callous claims of cowards fly in the air:
Huh! Make me beg for mercy and despair?
I assure you; bones do snap like brittle hair.
Just meet me in the arena — when the fight is fair.
So, go ahead. Leer, and jeer,
Ridicule me.
Spew your venom; Insult my name and legacy.
Just know your feet are floating upon thin ice,
And my claws will pay you a visit.
When these shackles demise.
