Candor International School celebrates Makar Sankranti and Pongal
A special assembly was arranged on January 15, 2013 when a group of students from different grade levels made a presentation before the whole school about the kinds of food served at the special lunch and about how Makar Sankranti is celebrated. That school cafeteria served the special mix of nuts, cane sugar and white sesame at morning snack and at lunch every student enjoyed a 6” length of sugar cane as well as sweet and savoury Pongal as part of the day’s festivities. The final treat was a bullock cart ride from the front of the school to the playground where every student was able to fly a kite and some even took a kite home.
