The Middle School Programme offers a wide range of subjects and encourages high academic standards through a practical approach to teaching and learning. Cambridge Syllabus – The curriculum for Grades 6-10 is drawn up under the Cambridge Syllabus. From Grades 6 to 8, students follow the Cambridge Lower Secondary. Thereafter, in Grades 9 and 10, students follow the Cambridge Upper Secondary — specifically, the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) stream. Students take their IGCSE exam at the end of Grade 10, an important milestone in their education.
The International Baccalaureate Diploma (IB) is a two-year programme meant to prepare students for prestigious universities around the world. The IB aims to develop “inquiring, knowledgeable, and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect.” Top universities around the world offer university credits to those students who score high on IB exams.
Advanced Subsidiary Level and Advanced level from Cambridge International Examinations, in short, AS/A levels are recognized and highly valued by universities and employers across the globe. The Diploma is designed to develop breadth as well as the depth of knowledge and to provide learners with a robust, rigorous, and challenging programme. The skills such as critical reasoning, research, teamwork, and argumentation are emphasized in this program along with the subject knowledge which is laid down as fundamentals.
A levels are taken over 2 years: the first year is called an AS, or advanced subsidiary level. This is equal to half an A level. The second year is called an A, or advanced level. It’s also sometimes referred to as an A2 and is equal to a full A level qualification. AS levels can be taken as a stand-alone qualification, or as the first part of an A level course.
Candor offers an on-campus residential facility throughout the academic year, with both weekly and regular boarding in Bangalore, for students in Grade 5 to Grade 12.
